English books written by Irish authors donated to Ningbo Library

Recently, the consul general of Ireland in Shanghai donated books at Ningbo Library. Original English books written by Irish writers like "Normal People", "Ulysses", "Gulliver's Travels" have been collected in the Friendship City Study Room on the third floor of the Ningbo Library New Building.

At the book-donating ceremony, Smurdy, the Irish Consul General in Shanghai and Ningbo Library Director Xu Yibo delivered speeches and handed over the donated books. Ms. Smuldy donated 30 original English books from Ireland. In addition to literary masterpieces, there are many social science books such as "Blazing a Trail", "A History of Ireland in 250 Episodes" and "Atlas of the Great Irish Famine"; Xu Yibo gave back books with Ningbo regional characteristics, such as "A Collection of Poems of Yixiaotang" and "Ningbo Cultural Symbols".

This book donation is an extension of the series of activities "Bringing You Closer to the Belt and Road". "In the future, we will further strengthen cooperation and bring in Irish culture, so that more Ningbo citizens can understand the excellent culture of other countries. At the same time, we will bring Ningbo local culture and Chinese culture to foreign countries, so that the world can hear the good voice of Ningbo." Xu Yibo said.
