Qualifications for application

The applicant has no immediate relative in a foreign country; the applicant is above 60 years of age, has lived in China for five years, for at least nine months every year with stable living security and secured residence.

Documents to submit

a. Three application forms for each applicant, to be submitted by the applicant or his/her trustee to the local public security;
b. The applicant's valid visa or relevant certificate;
c. Health certificate by a health department authorized by Chinese Government or by a foreign health institution authorized by a Chinese embassy or consulate (which is issued within six months before the application.)
d. Certificate for no illegal and criminal record in either China or a foreign country;
e. Four recently taken two-inch half-length, bareheaded and full-faced color photos;
f. The Chinese relative’s residence certificate or the foreign applicant’s Certificate for Permanent Residence of a Foreign Citizen; Certified certificate that the applicant has a Chinese relative or does not have a immediate relative in a foreign country; Certified certificate of the applicant’s financial status or the financial guarantee of the Chinese relative of the applicant; Certified certificate for house renting or a house property right certificate of the applicant or the relative of the applicant; or a certificate proved by a Chinese embassy or consulate.
