Qualifications for application

The applicant’s spouse is a Chinese citizen of a foreign citizen who has permanent residency permit; the marriage is over five years, the spouse's residence in China is over five years, for at least nine months every year with stable living security and residence.

Documents to submit

a.Three application forms for each applicant, to be submitted by the applicant or his/her trustee to the local public security;
b.The applicant's valid visa or relevant certificate;
c.Health certificate by a health department authorized by Chinese Government or by a foreign health institution authorized by a Chinese embassy or consulate (which is issued within six months before the application.)
d.Certificate for no illegal and criminal record in either China or a foreign country;
e.Four recently taken two-inch half-length, bareheaded and full-faced color photos;
f.The Chinese spouse’s residence certificate or the foreign spouse’s Certificate for Permanent Residence of a Foreign Citizen; Marriage Certificate; Certified certificate for living security; Certified certificate for house renting or a house property right certificate; or a certificate proved by a Chinese embassy or consulate.
