The port of Ningbo is a multi-functional and comprehensive modern deep-water port integrating the functions of inland port, river mouth port and sea port. It is mainly engaged in the loading, storage and transit business of imported iron ore, domestic and foreign trade containers, crude oil, liquefied chemical products, coal and other bulk cargo. An overall three-dimensional distribution system has taken shape for the port, integrating freeways, railways, aviation, river-sea intermodal transport and water to water transfer. By the end of 2021, Ningbo Port claimed to have 114 berths of 10,000 DWT or above, with the maximum water depth of 27.5 meters. By the end of 2021, Ningbo-Zhoushan Port had 287 container routes, including 134 ocean going shipping lines. With the year of 2021, Ningbo port area achieved a sea-rail intermodal transport volume of 1.204 million TEUs, up by 19.8% over the previous year.
