Cao Ying, originally named Sheng Junfeng, was born in Shengjia, Luotuoqiao Town of Cixi County (now in Zhenhai District) and is a translator of Russian literature. He is the first translator in China to translate Sholokhov’s works. He has translated works by Lemontov, Katayev, Nikolayeva, and others, exerting a great social impact among Chinese readers. Later, Cao Ying completed the translation of “The Complete Works of Tolstoy’s Novels” on his own, which was a unique feat even in the whole world.
