Established in 1760, Shouquanzhai TCM Drugstore, called “Shouquanzhai Traditional Chinese Medicine” at first, was founded by Wang Liao and Sun Jiangke (since Sun quit later, Shouquanzhai was taken over by Wang’s family for several generations. It was firstly located at No.56, East Zhongshan Road. The name “Shouquanzhai” symbolizes “long life and various medicines”. Shouquanzhai offers genuine goods at fair prices and abides by traditional infusion tragacanth. Shouquanzhai specializes in ointment, pill, pellet, medicinal slice, ginseng and young pilose antler tonic wine, medicinal liquor, high-level ginseng tonic and authentic medicinal herbs. Shouquanzhai Drugstore was awarded “China time-honored brand” in 1995.

Owing to its completeness in the variety of herbal medicines, excellent processing and effects in prolonging people’s life, it was named “Shouquanzhai”.  The name of the store was written by Yang Hengtai (a member of the Imperial Academy) and inscribed on a gild board. Shouquanzhai has a history of over 230 years and has been awarded “China time-honored brand” by the Ministry of Internal Trade.

Shouquanzhai sticks to genuine goods at fair prices and abides by traditional infusion tragacanth, adopting ancient tools such as purple copper pot, iron ship, tin plate, porcelain cup, etc in making a variety of ointment, pill, pellet, medicinal slice, tonic wine and medicinal liquor such as the tonic ointment, water eye drops, goose quill eye drops, children antipyretic. Its unique infusion tragacanth and rigorous management can be concluded with four words: “trustworthy, guaranteed, careful and authentic”. Now, Shouquanzhai Drugstore has moved to Yaohang Street, which is well received by Ningbo citizens. The Cream Formula Festival before Dongzhi Day (Winter Solstice) is one of the specialties for Shouquanzhai TCM Drugstore.

As a 100-year-old store, Shouquanzhai has received numerous awards including “China time-honored brand” by Ministry of Internal Trade and “famous shop in Zhejiang” by Zhejiang Provincial Government.
