Confucian Temple, the best persevered Confucian temple in the east Zhejiang

The Confucian Temple is located in the center of the city. Originally built in the first year during the reign of Emperor Yongxi in the Northern Song Dynasty, 318 years earlier than the Confucian temple in Beijing, and moved to its current location in 1048. It was an important testimony to the traditional Confucian culture in Cicheng. The architectural layout displays the aesthetic value of Confucianism, i.e., “Beauty of Neutralization and Harmoney”.
Ancient County Yamen, the largest yamen in regions south to the Yangtze River

The Ancient Yamen was set up in the 26th year during the Kaiyuan Period (738 AD) by the first magistrate Fangguan and was thereafter used till 1954. It has a history of more than 1,200 years. The yamen mainly demonstrates county government’ work in ancient China, a living coursebook for tourists to explore.
Ancient Examination Shed, the only one preserved in east Zhejiang

The Ancient Examination Shed is the place where Child Exam took place. It gives an overlook of the imperial examination system. The architectures are symmetrically balanced around an axis. From south to north there is the gate, the secondary gate, the lobby and the second lobby; on the left and right sides of the axis are examination place and the memorial hall.
Qing Taoist Temple, the most famous Taoist temple in Zhejiang and Jiangsu
The Qing Taoist Temple was built in the Eighth Year of Tianbao period (749 AD) and reconstructed by a Taoist priest Ye Jingxu in the 30th year of Shaoxing period in the Southern Song Dynasty (1160 AD) and was named Liexianyou Pavilion. On the right side of the temple was constructed the Dongyue Palace and. In the 21th year during the Hongwu period in the Ming Dynasty (1391 AD), Taoist Priest Wang Zhijing added the two palaces of Zhidao and Chongshou. The temple was then renamed Qing Taoist Temple.

Located in the historic block of the Taihu Road, Cicheng, the former residence of Fengyue, a minister of justice in the Ming Dynasty has 6 exhibition areas—Chen Caoqian Chinese Needlework Hall, Chen Xiasheng Chinese Knot Hall, Zhanbihua Chinese Embroidery Hall, Wu Yuanxin Blue Calico Hall, Textile Hall and Hansheng Paper-cutting Hall, storing masterpieces of Chinese traditional art. Visitors can try to the traditional handcrafts like Chinese knots and paper-cutting.
Feng and Yu House Complex, five theme exhibitions of Cicheng with its renown handvrafts

Feng and Yu House Complex is the most representative ancient building complex in Cicheng. There are five theme exhibitions including blue and white porcelain from Jingdezhen, clay figurines from Huishan, Wuxi, purple-grit tea pots from Yixing, Chinese wooden seat wares and Chinese fabric clothes, all representing the top-level handcraft in respective areas.
