Xiangshan Film Studio is located in the Ningbo Film and Cultural Industry Zone of Datang Port Ecological Leisure Tourism Zone, Xinqiao Town, Xiangshan County. Covering an area of more than 188 acres and with a total investment of 660 million yuan, the studio consists of sites featuring Eagle’s Couple, Spring and Autumn Warring States, the Republic of China and Journey to the West.
With Lingyan Mountain as the background and combining the natural landscapes of mountains, rocks, caves, water and forests, the studio aims to build itself into China’film workshops and Oriental Hollywood. It is also the first real-life movie theme park in China where tourists can participate in the film-making, experience the fun of film and interact with each other.
Xiangshan Film Studio consists of five major functional areas: Jianghu Town, Fantasy World, Dreamy Workshop, Martial Arts World and the Republic of China. With unique architectural style and rich shooting scenes,it can shoot scenes from ancient times like Qin and Han Dynasties to the recent dynasties like Ming and Qing. It can be used to photograph the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the Republic of China. Scenes of different eras like government buildings, residential houses, street shackles; films and TV dramas of different genres and different styles like daily life, martial arts and wars can be filmed here.
The newly completed high-tech digital studio has realized real-time synthesis and simultaneous imaging of captured images, which is not limited by factors like environment, weather and transition, which not only shortens the filming time, but also greatly reduces the cost of shooting. Besides, the film studio has also built Asia's largest underwater studio and studio with film shooting standard.
Xiangshan Film Studio is one of China's top ten film and television bases, national AAAA scenic spot, China's fascinating scenic spot, the best theme amusement resort destination, and also won the title of “Asia Golden Travel Award? The first batch of the most distinctive tourist destinations”. Martial Arts world
The Martial Arts World extends from the entrance of Studio to the Ruthless Valley in the southwest, including the workshop area, village and street area, Guiyun Manor, Chaotianmen Wharf, Banyan woods, Guanyin Temple and Sanqing Hall. A great many famous directors and stars are realizing their martial arts dream here. The world will make you feel that you have witnessed the heroes fighting for the country,people and justice.
Fantasy world
The fantasy world is composed of Live Dead Tombs, Water Curtain caves, Lujiazhuang, Baiguling and other scenes. The varying styles are difficult to distinguish between true and false. It can be transformed into various fantasy scenes according to the shooting needs of the crew. Condor Heroes, Journey to the West, Xuanyuan Sword, the King’s Woman and many other TV dramas have been shot here. Among them, Water Curtain Cave is currently the largest man-made monomer cave in China, covering an area of more than 1,200 square meters, 18 meters high and 210 meters wide. It is a natural indoor studio for shooting and has become a favorite shooting site for many directors
Jianghu Town
Jianghu Town (Xiangyang City) is based on Zhang Jizhong's TV series The Condor Heroes and the urban layout of Xiangyang City in Song Dynasty. The city has a collection of antique buildings such as Yichunyuan(Brothel), Guojing’s Home(A Hero in Condor Heros), the General’s Office, and restaurants. Here, there are also tall walls, hustling and bustling crowds, and the crying of vendors, truly reproducing the original outlook of the ancient Jianghu towns. Traveling in the town, you are likely to meet ancient people who, shaking the fan and holding the bird cage the people, greet the passers-by. Numerous famous guides and stars have left their footprints here.
Dreamy Workshop
The Dreamy Workshop (Spring and Autumn Warring States) was built for the film "The Orphan of Zhao" directed by Chen Kaige. It cost 120 million yuan and started construction in October 2009. It was completed in April 2010. It covers an area of 152 mu and has a construction area of 43,000 square meters. It consists of Taoyuan Palace, Zhaodun House, Tu’an House, Zhuangji House and Gongsun House. It is an ideal studio for the shooting films in the background of the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. Visitors can experience the most authentic filming scene and get a close look at the stars.
Republic of China
The City of the Republic of China is composed of hundreds of typical buildings of the Republic of China, including public buildings, streets, Shikumen sytle buildings, courtyards, houses and mansions from the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China. It focuses on typical buildings and characteristic streetscapes in cities and concession areas across the country during the late feudal society and the embryonic stage of capitalism.
