The cakes of Liangnong Town has a history of about 300 years. In ancient time, the cakes exclusively made in Liangnong Town were a tribute to the royal family, and the technique has been handed down from generation to generation. The production skills have been included in the representative list of intangible cultural heritage items of Yuyao County. The cakes, usually in the shape of a square, have some auspicious words printed on the surface, like “Happiness, Wealth, and Longevity”, in red. As a result, the cakes are both delicious and pretty.
