The Glorious Past of the Forbidden City: A New Year’s Exhibition of Palace Treasures from the Qing Dynasty in Ningbo

With about 180 pieces (groups) of exhibits, the exhibition includes four major sections: The “Making of Exquisite Clothes” section showcases the beauty of ritual weaving and embroidery, the “Festival Artifacts” section conveys the meaning of seasonal utensils, the “Dwelling Charm” section demonstrates the charm of space creation, and “Heaven and Earth in Heart” section explores the realm of spiritual beliefs. The exhibition outlines an artistic scroll of the palace life of the Qing Dynasty, leading the audience into a scene of palace life full of rituals and auspicious meanings.

Monet’s Poetry: A Dialogue Between Eastern and Western Aesthetics from Chicago to the Three Rivers Estuary

The exhibition, with the theme of “mutual learning between the East and the West” and in the form of a “dialogue”, focuses on showcasing over 60 pieces (groups) of exquisite collections from the Ningbo Museum and the Art Museum of Chicago in the United States. It presents the exquisite Chinese ceramics, Buddha statues, Chinese calligraphy and Chinese painting works as well as European glassware, sculptures, printmaking and other art treasures, constructing a civilization dialogue that spans time, space and region, exploring the differences and similarities in artistic creation between the East and the West in different historical periods with different cultural backgrounds.

2026 Ningbo New Year’s Concert

The concert, conducted by Professor Yu Feng, features the Ningbo Symphony Orchestra in collaboration with the Central Conservatory of Music Choir, as well as such top musicians as Wang Chuanyue, the first prize winner of the 5th China International Vocal Competition, Wang Zhe, the winner of the Golden Bell Award for Chinese Music, Zhai Peng, the gold medal winner of the Albert Lortzing International Vocal Competition in Leipzig, Germany, and Wang Liya, the champion of the 74th ARD Munich International Music Competition, presenting a year-end music feast to the audience.

Lecture: Working alongside AI: towards a General Intelligence to be Shared by Mankind

By Wu Fei, a distinguished professor at Zhejiang University, specializing in artificial intelligence, and multimedia analysis and retrieval. The current dean of the undergraduate program at Zhejiang University, executive director of the National Artificial Intelligence Textbook Base, winner of the National Outstanding Youth Award, member of the Intelligent Science and Technology Discipline Evaluation Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, and director of the Education Working Committee of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence. He has won the first prize for scientific and technological progress from the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, and the Chinese Electronics Society, as well as the special prize for higher education teaching achievements in Zhejiang Province in 2025. The textbooks and popular science books he compiled include “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence”, “Introduction to Artificial Intelligence: Models and Algorithms”, “Approaching Artificial Intelligence”, and “Preliminary Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (Information Technology Textbook for High Schools)”.
