Ningbo Folk Music Concert
This Ningbo Folk Music Concert interprets the regional cultural spirit through the elegant charm of modern Chinese strings & bamboo melodies. Its core work, the “Ningbo Charm Suite,” takes five local folk songs and classic legends as its creative blueprint. Through deconstruction and reconstruction, the concert refines familiar local sounds of everyday life into a delicate language of chamber music.

Series Exhibition of Precious Ancient Books: Three Religions in One
The block-printed edition of San Jiao Tong Sheng (Three Religions in One) from the Wanli period (1573-1620) of the Ming Dynasty was compiled by the Ming literatus Zhang Dexin. This guqin music collection integrates representative pieces from Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, making it the first important document in the history of ancient Chinese music to compile guqin melodies from all three religions. At the exhibition, visitors can not only browse through the e-book of San Jiao Tong Sheng and watch accompanying explanatory short videos, but also listen to the ancient sounds echoing across more than four hundred years of time.

Lecture: How Mencius Approaches Reading
The speaker, Xu Xingwu, is a professor and currently serves as the Dean of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences at Nanjing University. His research primarily focuses on the study of Chinese classics, ancient Chinese literature, thought, and culture. He is the author of such works as A General Introduction to Mencius, Chenwei Literature and the Construction of Han Dynasty Culture, A Critical Biography of Liu Xiang, The Formation of Early Classics and Cultural Awareness, and The Lineage of Books. He also directs major projects of the National Social Science Fund of China, including “Research on the Institutional System of Chinese Classics.”
