On July 3, Ningbo Wufeng Frozen Food Trading Market, known as a “Super Refrigerator” of the city, announced the establishment of a cold chain ecosystem, in joint hands with Ningbo Meishan International Cold Chain, COSCO SHIPPING, W&W Cold Chain, such industry leaders as JD Logistics, SF Cold Chain, Meituan Kuailv, and Ruiyun Cold Chain, as well as the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing.
This ecosystem, integrating the entire chain of “production, transportation, sales, and distribution”, marks a new stage of integrated supply chain collaboration for the cold chain industry of Ningbo.
This expansion of the ecosystem exhibits the characteristics of “entire chain and digitalization”.
On the same day, Meituan Kuailv business settled down on the trading market platform. This leading domestic catering B2B platform will directly empower hundreds of merchants in the market to access digital tools with a single click and implement digital inventory management. “We used to rely on our regular customers to introduce new ones for our frozen food wholesale, and the amount of orders we could secure within a day used to be up to luck. Now, with Meituan Kuailv, we can secure more orders, with easier management and guaranteed payment”, said a merchant named Xu Zhichao.
Additionally, such logistics chain partners as Ruiyun Cold Chain and Manhan Food will fill in the gaps in the ecosystem across transportation, processing, distribution, and packaging. The Ningbo Catering Association and the Grocery Industry Association will serve as bridges to further streamline the circulation chain from the market to merchants, restaurants and consumers.
The flattened supply chain has greatly reduced the circulation links. With the support of the 100,000-ton cold storage and the increasingly improved cold chain distribution networks, half day delivery within the same city has become the norm, leading to carefree family and catering procurement. With the coupling of all parties concerned, the comprehensive operating costs of cold chain logistics in Ningbo and surrounding areas are expected to further decrease, and the customer acquisition radius of merchants will expand from Ningbo, Shaoxing and Taizhou to the entire Yangtze River Delta area.
