During the peak summer travel season, the passenger flow at Ningbo Lishe International Airport continues to rise. From July 1 to 31, Ningbo Airport Customs facilitated a total of nearly 75,000 inbound and outbound passengers and 667 flights.
Among these, the two-way passenger flow to and from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan totaled over 45,000, accounting for about 60% of the total and serving as the main driver of summer traffic. The two-way passenger flow between Ningbo and Hong Kong exceeded 28,000, representing approximately 40% of the total international passenger traffic.
Following Hong Kong, Bangkok (Thailand) and Jeju Island (South Korea) each recorded over 9,300 two-way passengers. Although the flight frequency to Nha Trang (Vietnam) is low, flights are almost always full, with two-way passenger flow exceeding 2,600, making it the dark horse for outbound travel this summer.
The direct European route from Ningbo to Budapest (Hungary) operates stably, with two-way passenger flow exceeding 2,300, providing a convenient air corridor connecting Ningbo to Europe.
"Looking at the overall pattern, short-distancetravel dominates with high frequency and density, while medium- and long-haul routes also demonstrate strong passenger appeal during the peak summer travel season, reflecting the increasingly diverse outbound consumption demands of Ningbo citizens," said Hong Yang, Deputy Head of the Third Inspection Section of Ningbo Airport Customs.
In addition, the enthusiasm of overseas tourists for inbound consumption also continues to rise during the summer.
Since July 1, new departure tax refund policies have been implemented. Reforms such as the "Instant Refund" program usable across different cities, the unified extension of the refund validity period to 28 days, and simplified random checks for small refunds under 10,000 yuan have removed barriers for overseas travelers regarding cross-city travel andcross-region tax refunds, significantly improving the convenience of departure tax refunds for overseas tourists.
Data shows that in July this year, Ningbo Airport Customs processed 82 departure tax refund applications, with a total value exceeding 3.24 million yuan, representing a 78.2% increase in departure tax refund business volume compared to the same period last year.
