Series Exhibition of Precious Ancient Books at Tianyige Museum: A Comprehensive Study on River Harnessing

The Jiajing edition of A Comprehensive Study on River Harnessing was compiled by Che Xi, a Ming Dynasty official. This historical document on the Yellow River’s governance systematically sorts out the river governance strategies over more than two thousand years from the Eastern Zhou to the Ming Dynasty for the first time. It is the first important work in the history of ancient Chinese water conservancy to comprehensively compile historical documents on Yellow River governance. Entering the exhibition hall, you can not only flip through the e-book of the “Comprehensive Examination of River Harnessing” and watch accompanying explanatory short videos, but also feel the ancients’ wisdom and responsibility in water management through the yellowed pages.

Guest speaker Ms. Gong Jingjing is an independent media professional, a special writer for CCTV documentary programs, and the founder of the WeChat official account Mingzhou Shixiang (Ningbo Tapestry). She is also a member of both the Zhejiang Youth Federation and the Zhejiang Writers Association. Her works have won first prize in the national new media competition multiple times.
